Date & Time: Day 9, after Aigis's meeting with Jack.

Summary: Aigis and Katniss are meeting for the first time. Katniss will be awkward about it.
Following their departure from the Beast's Castle, Katniss had kept to herself, choosing to observe those on the Caravan in hopes of discerning whether or not this was all some elaborate plot by the Capitol. Although imprisonment had fueled her paranoia, their subsequent release and invitation to a masquerade had stirred up her doubts. Soon, she had seen it was unrealistic to hold on to the idea. There were too many people, all of which knew nothing about her world. It wasn't long before she realized that she would have to accept that she was stuck, plain and simple. It was a situation that made little sense to her, but no matter the environment there was one thing Katniss knew how to do: survive. So she did exactly that, all while purposefully avoiding making herself known on the network.
However, it was useful in keeping up to date with the details of their journey. It was during one of her customary looks at her Junogam that she noticed the message from one Aigis. The girl, presumably, had sounded so cheerful about their being roommates, and Katniss hadn't had the heart to ignore her. She thought of Peeta, how he interacted with others, and doubted she could even remotely approach his level of ease. Still, she was practical and knew she needed somewhere relatively safe to stay in that wasn't a bare room that anyone could walk into while she was sleeping.
Katniss was irked by the thought of sharing it with a stranger whose intentions were unknown, but she figured that was the purpose of this meeting. Even though, she thought bitterly as she smoothed out a wrinkle on the sheets of the bed she was sitting on, I'm apparently awful at judging others. Look at how well I did with Haymitch.
Stifling those thoughts, she waited for her roommate to arrive.
