[ Serah nearly has to stop herself from bolting down the castle's long, nearly desolate hallways in search of her sister, now that the majority of the prisoners have scattered. It's Snow that keeps her grounded. Her small hand is linked tightly with his, and she has no intention of letting go. She wants to find her sister, to find Lightning, wherever she is, more than anything else in the world, but she's not about to let Snow out of her sight, even to dart around a corner. She's almost afraid this is all just another dream, and she doesn't want to take the chance of even causing a mere figment of her imagination to vanish. To leave her alone again. She just wants everything to be over, so that everything can go back to normal again, even if the current circumstances seem to dictate otherwise. Even if she knows deep within her mind that things are far from over. It would be silly to pretend Serah hadn't seen the black mark on Snow's wrist back in the cell, the brand of a Pulse l'Cie. It worried her as soon as she had seen it, not long after she had given the pale woman Snow's coat--which the woman still had, to presumably return later. She hadn't said anything about the brand, not yet. Now wasn't the time. And, quite frankly, she doesn't want to think about it.

There's Hope to think about, too. She recognized the boy the moment they had found him wandering the halls, though she didn't know his name then. The memories right around the time she fulfilled her Focus--or so she hopes: when she awoke, her upper arm was again covered by a thick cloth, and she hasn't dared look--are hazy and dulled around the edges, but she could recall his face clear enough. Snow had spotted the boy first, and apparently knew Hope quite well, from the way he was acting around him. It makes Serah question just how long she had been in crystal stasis, but she knows that's yet another question to save until later. What matters is that he's here and her sister's here. And Hope, too. She may not know him, but she can tell that he's important to Snow, somehow, and he knows Lightning, too.

She shakes her head, rounding a corner just a pace ahead of Snow. No, the three of them will find her together, in their own time and at their own pace. Right around the corner and just a fifteen feet ahead, the hallway splits into three directions: straight, right, and left. She looks over her shoulder, back at Snow and Hope. ]

So, which way?
