Application for Camilla Macaulay, The Secret History
(
'Looks just like a statue of Diana in my father's club. All she lacks is a mother's firm hand, but still, for my money, she's what you call a bramble rose, as opposed to your hybrid tea. Doesn't take the pains she ought, you know. And runs around half the time in her brother's sloppy old clothes, which maybe some girls can get away with -- well, frankly I don't think any girls can get away with it, but she certainly can't. Looks too much like her brother.' -- Bunny Corcoran, former classmate ... very former )
application,
camilla macaulay

*apologetic, with a faint thin smile* I'm not much of a legal expert. I worked as a secretary for my uncle's law firm over school holidays when I was a student, but that was just answering the phone, really.
*the slightest line appears between her brows* You might say I steer clear of the law.

As long as the laundries and dry cleaners exist, I don't see why I should.

This has to be a joke, Sarah is certain of it. But that look - yes, this is seriously freaky. Ryuuji should know better by now than to play a joke like this and Stephen... well, of course he would not do something like this.
Would he?
No, of course not! She hopes...
She should probably say something, but she has no idea what she should say, other than to shake her head at the question. If this is a joke, whoever orchestrated it is going to be in so very much trouble when she gets ahold of them. Still looking at the woman with wide-eyed shocked, she clears her throat.
"Out of curiosity, what's your opinion on toast?"

And she's surprised by the fact that, indeed, she really would like that. She hasn't associated with anyone other than Nana in such a long time, not since her brother ... well, left.
"There is a kind of two-player version we could manage."

*in Attic Greek* < I spoke well enough to please my teacher. >
Reply
*also in Greek, stilted but understandable* < I'm still learning, but Dr. Matsoukis, my teacher, says I'm making progress. >
*back in English* I'd love someone to practice my Greek and Latin with. Would you mind?
