OOC: Suggestion Box and Autopopping - PLEASE READ! :)
This edition of General Hatspital brings two new developments to your attention.
Suggestion Box:
First, we'd like to announce the grand opening of the Hogwarts Hocus Suggestion Box. The Suggestion Box is a place for you to communicate directly with the mods, via screened comments, to give them feedback about what's working and what you think could improve the comm further.

Autopopping:
Second, we are about to start off a multi-phased process of autopopping characters whose muns have been inactive for three months or longer. This will (1) make the character roster much shorter (which is necessary, because it is on the verge of exceeding LJ limit) and (2) make the process of taking over inactive characters easier, as there is no need to contact the former mun of a popcorned character if you would like to take the character over, whereas muns of characters who are inactive, but not popcorn, must be contacted.
There are a number of things you need to know about this process:
(1) We will not be autopopping inactive characters of active muns. For example, if you play three of your characters actively, but have not played a fourth character in five months, we will not autopop the fourth character. Keep in mind that character squatting is not very nice; however, we will not force active muns to give up their inactive characters.
(2) We will be doing the autopopping in phases, starting with characters who were apped between the day the comm first opened (December 13, 2005) and characters who were apped by the end of February 2006. In other words, if you are a mun who has not actively RPed any of your characters in the last three months, any character you apped between 12/13/2005 and 2/28/2006 is up for autopopping in the first round. We will proceed in three-month increments (i.e., next up: 3/1/2006 to 5/31/2006) periodically when we feel it's needed.
(3) Every time we do an autopopping round, we will list the characters up for autopopping a week in advance. If you see one of your characters up there and do not concur with the autopopping, please comment to the autopopping announcement post AND e-mail Kahnooloo (kahnooloo[at]gmail[dot]com) and the three mods to say that you do not want the character autopopped.
(4) If a character with whom one of your characters had significant interaction is up for autopopping and you're concerned about the effects this will have on your character (e.g., cause a lot of angst and emo), please send an e-mail about it to Kahnooloo (kahnooloo[at]gmail[dot]com) and the three mods, and we can discuss options for how to structure the autopopping (or to avoid it) so as to cause the least amount of anguish for your character. We will work with you on this, so please don't worry!
(5) As stated in #2, the autopopping process runs according to application date. It does not run by new-mun-takeover or unpopping date. For example, say that Character A was apped on January 1, 2006, popped in May 2006, and taken over by a new mun in June 2006. Then the new mun went inactive with all of his or her characters in August 2006. Because Character A was apped in January 2006, the character is up for autopopping now.
