My sister went to Mississippi to visit her in-laws and returned with a flea-infested, malnourished, worm-ridden kitten (Deb can pick 'em!). She definitely saved this little guy from a miserable (and very short, more than likely!) existence. I don't know that I've ever met a sweeter, more amazing little animal. A small tornado was sighted on the ground about 20 miles from my house, but we were just hit with raging wind, torrential downpour, and the largest hail I've seen in several years.  (Gotta love Texas!)  The diameter averaged 2-inches, with some of the larger pieces coming in near 3 inches.  The hail portion of the storm lasted about 10 minutes.  ( Read more... )

My husband was washing his truck this morning and saw what looked like a falling star.  Knowing such a sighting would be impossible in broad daylight, he began to fear it was wreckage from an airplane crash.

Turns out, it was space debris from the satellites that collided last week.  Creepy!!
