Sheepy took it easy and came on wednesday early afternoon instead of the night before. I sat outside and waited for him on the porch, pull up a chair and relax. We were getting hungry and wanted something to eat and thought of Vincent's and Hob house for later, but just needed a little lunch, and got a taste for hot Dogs at Ikea.
First we went to Dollar General for some papar towels and other supplies like that, and got some flavored waters. We were taking the parkway out to Ikea and there must have been the president or someone else coming in, because the police had the exits blocked all along, and cars came in a motorcade with flags on them, and a full escort down the other lane going in to town. We wondered who it must be.
Ikea was supposed to have wi-fi, and I took my mini laptop, but their service must just be upstairs at the cafe and not downstairs at the lunch counter. It started to rain and we watched a lady struggling with big flat packed boxes, trying to get them in to her pickup with the help of a couple of kids. Their hot Dogs are good, Ric woofed that they are made with all beef, and they do have a nice taste.
After that we headed to the beer distributor in Robinson and Ric got a few cases, some Lagunitas, one of the companies that has beer Dogs, a nice black Lab as a logo. There are lots of beer Dogs. He also got some Pabst, and all purpose lawn mower beer.
Later we set up a new mix on the transmitter and went to K-Mart to get some duct tape for Ric's fursuit case, and I wondered if they had lawn Dogs with lights on them that charge in the sun. It was around 8 pm and we thought we heard the announcement say that the store would be closing, but it was just the layaway department. Silly distorted PA systems.. :)
We dropped our stuff from K-Mart off at home and went to the Hop House for a real dinner, had nice salads and spaghetti and meat balls, a simple good meal. After we came home and relaxed for a while we thought about whether we should go down to Anthrocon, and of course we should go to Anthrocon!
It was late and I wondered if anyone would be there, but actually there were plenty of Furs getting in and sleepy Furs walking around. The only one I knew was Tigerwolf, and he was one of the sleepy Furs.
I saw a puppy in costume there, bouncing around and happy, with a buddy he was playing with. The pup has a name like Rex or something, as Ric saw on his tag. He had lots of energy and was really being a Dog, and Hobnose would have really liked him he was so cute! I got lots of video of him.
We came home and set up the VHS player to watch one of the movies that Ric had bought at the thrift store, Mystery Men. It has Artie Lange at the beginning, who Ric listens to on Sirius, on Howard Stern's show. The movie is about a motley crew of super heroes against a villain called Casanova Frankenstein. I thought it wasn't a bad movie, but I fell asleep half way through, just tired.
Thursday we woke up and had chatted a little, and then tried to sit out and Ric had his laptop too, but it started to rain just then. Ric had a sudden idea to go to Shop And Save in the rain with our new umbrellas, just for fun and to get a few things for food later. First we stopped at BP to get some of their cheap chicken sandwiches on a special deal with a pop for Ric.
At Shop And Save we got some lettuce and meat for chili, some corn and other stuff. We had to shop light because we were going to be walking home too.
