Day at Ron's and ice cream
Tuesday I started to put in the new toilet we found, had to get the wax ring and other parts for it. It's a good 5 gallon fixture from 1955, and it's what I had been looking for, one like the good toilet in the garage that always flushes right.
In the afternoon we all went to Ron's place for a visit and to help him to put up a TV antenna. We went to Home Depot and got a fence post, hose clamps, and coax cable. We watched some TV and then had a two nice pizzas. It was a fun visit, and Ron got to see Hobnose again, and meet Werevereen (Shadow) for the first time. Ron, you had three Furries in your house, that must have been different!
Wednesday Hob and me went to Rita's for ice cream treats. That's the place right down the street where we had taken my Dog Yoder in 2003. Hobnose ordered something and got it in a little cup, well she thought it was for her, but actually it was a free sample for Yoder. That caused lots of laughs as Hob tried to figure out why her ice cream was so small, and it's something we'll always remember.. :)
This time we had blue ice that was cotton candy flavored, and sat out in their little picnic area. We took a quick look in the new furniture thrift store right next to Rita's, then went to the regular thrift store and got a plaster Pomeranian head wall hanging, some clothes, and a little Weber grill to make food easy without getting the big one out. We got a Wendy's burger for Werevereen (Shadow). Later we went to the hardware store for toilet parts, and pretty much got all of the parts that are inside of a toilet.
Shadow's friend from Indiana called and said all kinds of things about Hobnose's brother coming to find us and demanding money, but it was all an impractical joke to play on our fears, evil! Hob and Boom went out for a walk and a more serious bark before we found out though, and figured it out on our own, who cares, it's time to make a break from the past.
Nice walk too, down the street to Minotte and through part of West End where Boomer found a scooter, something Hobnose had been looking for. The scooter has to be fixed, but it should work, woof. Actually the joke helped to make a stronger stand and decide what we want, even with all of the fun we're having.
Later we all went to K-Mart at Parkway Center to get these little mp3 players Hob and Boom had seen, and then walked around to see the whole rest of the mall.
