[Action → Around Mayfield]

[for those of you who actually bother to make the morning commute to work/school, you might have a little trouble today. there, right in the middle of the road, is a very big, fat cat-like creature sleeping serenely despite all the traffic going on around it. cars beep their horns furiously at it and find a way to drive ( Read more... )

Aw~~ You're going to take up fighting now, Red-kins? I suppose I could help you out a tiny bit there, if you don't mind a girl giving you pointers ☆

I know enough. The basics, anyway. They taught us all sorts of things back then, even if most of it was crap.

What are you most interested in learning, hm?

Who?

Anything that'll help. I hate feeling defenseless. Next time something like - that - happens, I want to be ready, and I don't want to be hiding.

[[when nia gets home from school, she generally likes a small snack. a little pack on the back for being such a good student and learning so much.

that isn't happening today. nope.

she stands outside the house, staring at the window. she doesn't seem... worried. just confused. so, to investigate, she goes inside to find the... cat-thing. she gently sets her books on the counter and watches it for a few moments before...]] You are very large!

[what's this little girl saying? better yet, why is she shouting? it's not like Snorlax can't hear her, jeeze!]

"Snoore..."

[it's not an irate or particularly threatening growl - just a very sleepy, lazy one. it's said right as he smashes a jar of pickles against the wall, splattering pickle juice and scattering glass before he actually begins to reach his paw into the jar, picking one pickle out at a time before devouring it.

he isn't very concerted that she's been found out either. just another day in Snorlax's life.]

Oh, you are hungry? [[she looks around. it's already cleaned out the fridge... my, it has a large stomach!

she walks over to a cupboard, and opens it. she keeps the cookie jar there! carefully, she takes it out and closes the cupboard. then, she approaches the large creature and takes a cookie out, holding it out to him.]] Would you like a cookie? Or are they bad for you...?

"Laaax." [curiously, he takes the cookie from her hands with one paw, then turns it over to look at it and sniff at it. whatever inspection the cookie's being put under ends quickly enough, though, because Snorlax is cramming it in his mouth all of two seconds later.

he chews and swallows, then makes a content noise before licking his chops.]

"Snorlaaaax."

[and before long, he's trying to climb to his feet to totter over to the cookie jar for more.]

[Delivering papers early in the morning, Lucas is too focused on not smashing any windows to notice the roadblock for a moment or tow. Luckily, his table slows down of its own accord.

Lucas's mouth slowly opens wide.

After a few moments of staring, he dismounts, approaches, and... gently reaches out a finger.

Poke.]

[it's...super effective? well, not really. but if you were expecting the cat thing to growl quietly and for his fur to prickle when Lucas pokes him, then you're in luck. with as little effort as possible, Snorlax cranes his head in Lucas' direction.

a big white table with a silly bow on it. an equally silly looking kid sitting atop it. what is this world coming to?]

"Laaaax. Snor...lax."

[and, surprise, Lucas is getting poked back. by a big paw, no less.]

Oh!

[Lucas pulls back a little from the big paw before reaching out a small hand. ...He'll try to shake one of Snorlax's claws.]

I'm sorry. You looked so... fluffy.

[he glances down at the tiny little hand that his paw all but obscures, letting Lucas wrap his around one of Snorlax's claws and move it up and down. he doesn't look particularly troubled by it. then again, with a face like Snorlax's, it'd be hard to tell anyway.]

"Lax..."

[and duh, of course he's fluffy. everyone knows that, not least of all the children that used to use his belly as a trampoline back when he was still wild. which is what he assumes Lucas wants to do right now.

gently, Snorlax opens his paw up and gently reaches out to hook one claw under the collar of Lucas' shirt, easily lifting him up off the table and onto his big, furry stomach.]
