I have started the Cyberman helmet!
I've got a couple layers of paiper mache on the basic frame so far. Considering the design I'm going for, I plan on doing this in stages. Right now I'm building the basic head, once that's done I need to add some more cardboard around the head (and more paiper mache) to establish some of the features such as the face and the upper part of the head.
As I have mentioned before, the design of Cyberman I'm going for is custom design inspired by this image by Matt Savage. Savage modified the Cybermen seen in the Patrick Troughton episode Wheel in Space, the fans call it the Mk.III version, since it's the third redesign the Cybermen had since their introduction.
So far, I've made just the head part. I do need to add some more cardboard on the sides to extend it a bit. I'm trying to figure out how to build the neckplate without having to paiper mache it on me. I've got a few ideas from
one guy who built something similar on the Cyberman builders group. I expect I'll end up making it in stages, much like everything else.
I am taking photos as I'm working, but I'm planning on saving those for a mega-post when I show the final product off at
crafty_tardis.
