Swift is the tail that pokes out the nest

made of dead leaves.

Surrounded by green

The hunter waits.

Three totally different people
Riding in a truck.
High school friends
                Never to see each other again.
All come from different backgrounds
Each have different destinies.
This one last favor
A truck ride home
A final goodbye
The end of high school
The beginning of adulthood.

Today

In poetry class

On the 3rd floor

Of Dvickers

I saw you

Outside my window

That I sit by every

Tuesday and Thursday

At 11.

And like a creeper

I snapped a picture

Of YOU.

You are probably walking to class

Or maybe to you vehicle…

Either way

You are about to receive a text

With a picture

Where you are the subject

And I the photographer.

Entry 10-Reflecting the Reflection

What if we are living
in a reflection
the reflection of a perfect world?
We are blurred and can never
be in the image we mirror.
Stuck behind a shiny surface
Forced to puppet what they do
But never to be free.

Entry 9- Glazed Monster

I’ve watched your eyes
Black as you morph into
Your primitive state
And all I can do
Is stare.
Stare
At myself in your
murky coal filled
eyes.

Entry 8- One Mile Run

Walking.
It’s one foot in front of the other.
Easy enough, right?
However, when speed is added
And time
and a track
One foot is forced in front the other
at an accelerated rate.
Legs tell brain, “shut up”
As lungs simply shut down
Drowning in the air they once feasted on.

Before I get started
I’m dead.
I’m helpless as my team
trudges on over my corpse
And all I can do is watch.
Frustrated.
Waiting for a second chance.
At the store I find better
Items to equip myself with.
Then, I am released back
into the chaos.
My friends call for back up.
                I’m afraid.
I don’t want to die again…
