I've just discovered that a good friend, named Rich, had a really nasty accident last night and is currently laid up in pretty poor shape in hospital. Our third and final gig of the month was a pilgrimage to darkest Lydney to see Panic Room play the third date of their second tour, following the "micro-tour" of 4 dates (truncated to 3 due to a power failure at the final venue!) earlier this year. Yes, it's that time of year once again: I'm now a year older than I was a couple of days ago, as it was my birthday yesterday. As is usual, I don't actually feel any older, but that 'HippyDave < 40' equation is shakier by the week. Ah well. it's only a number, innit?

I'm sitting at work, having just finished my lunch, and wishing I felt a bit more human. I spent yesterday at home feeling a little sorry for myself, with a bellyache that wouldn't quit, and I'm still not quite back to normal, though it does seem to be easing off a bit. Finally got around to booking my flight to/from Glasgow for the Spock's Beard gig next month (6th July) - really looking forward to that, it's going to be properly ace. Well, in just over half an hour Steen will pick me up from work and we'll be off down towards the Taunton area for a weekend's camping.
