Within the past few months, my family's pantry got an infestation of moths (it's directly across the kitchen from the back door, and my sisters got in the habit of leaving the door open at night with the lights on). The fleas, they are vicious this year. I have 2 cats and a miniature dachshund. In spite of using the hella expensive treatment from the vet (it's a chewtab with heartworm protection as well), all of the critters are getting eaten up by fleas. I've noticed over several years that mosquitoes love to hang out by my front door and the side of the house adjacent to the driveway. I also know that birds -- sparrows, robins, & crows mostly -- will spend time in or near the tree in front of my house and occasionally visit the upstairs porch. This is for a friend--her cat is old and not interested in mice at all, so the little stinkers are all over. They get into cupboards and chew into things and ruin food, make a mess. I have a lot of house plants, and I've been battling fungus gnats for a few months now. I thought they were finally gone, but they resurfaced again. I just looked through the tags but couldn't find anything recent on carpet beetles. I've lived in my apartment for a bit over a year and I have seen the occasional carpet beetle here and there mostly in the warmer months.  It seems as though the past month they've been popping up more often.
