Week Name/Date/Time: 'Yuletide Joy' / Sunday, 11th December 2005 / 1:38 pm
Location: Quidditch Pitch
Open To: Gryffindor TEAM and any fans (no rivals please!)
Currently Involving: Jackie, Phillip, group
If there was a desk in the center of the field, or one that could float in the skies, Phillip would be smacking his head on it at this very moment. Sure, most of his teammates were skilled flyers and half of them had played Quidditch for a long time, but today's practice just emphasized how much harder he had to work them and how many more practices they needed in order to win the House Cup.
First, he had tried to throw the Quaffle over his shoulder to Simon - their newest member - in a reverse pass. The younger Gryffindor fumbled, and Blaze had to zoom down to retrieve the ball. Naturally, she caught it, but when she saw Jackie flying from the opposite direction, she thought the younger girl was making a pass and threw the Quaffle towards her. Only then she realized that the fifth year wasn't a Chaser any more, and tried to go after the Quaffle. This resulted in a mid-air collision, because Jackie tried to catch the Quaffle with the intent to throw it back to her friend, but was caught in surprise when Blaze flew into her.
At least, Phillip could count on his Beaters; both Bran and Grady taking turns deflecting bludgers and then aiming them at the team to watch them duck and dodge them. Although Simon seemed to be able to dodge them okay, Phillip had to knock him a few times to push him out of the way of a few... which only made Simon more nervous about being on the team, and added to more fumblings of the Quaffle.
When practice was over, Jackie was sprawled over the grass, trying to catch her breath. She rubbed her arms, giving a half-smile at Blaze for the mix-up, and tentatively looked at Phillip. She could imagine his irritation, but she didn't want to placate him... at least not just yet.
