pre-learners riding lesson day 2, was more of the same, going in circles with blinkers and sudden breaking, giving way to merging traffic. passed with flying colours, got my proficiency certificate, i'm off next week to sit the learners test and get my L-Plates.

on the way in i figured i needed another bike jacket, my old one wouldnt even let my arms in and i couldnt get it on my back. i guess i got bigger since '94. i gave the old one to my nephew and it fitted him perfectly. he's 65kgs and skinny. i cant believe i must have been that thin myself back then.

my new jacket is a STAGG Brando style bike jacket which is what i've wanted for years, $250 bought from Magnum Bikes in Wollongong. looks really great and i promise to wear it NYE (you couldnt get it off my back anyway, i love it too much). i have had bomber jackets made of nylon, fake sheep-skin and cotton and i prefer that style. working man and practical, but for dressing to kill i have only had the nice woolen long coat, suit jackets and the long leather coat that was 2 sizes too small. i am really proud of my Brando jacket. it's very comfortable and half a size too big to allow for shrinkage and wearing a jumper underneath in the bad cold. it also has a good kidney warmer that's missing from many Brando style brands. if only they'd make them with bike armour like the jap style jackets have.
