Okay. I can buy the Cloud-seeking-redemption line just fine. That I can deal with. My major deal is that not a single character had any kind of development as the movie went along. Not a single one. Kadaj and his two brothers(what the hell were their names even?) just randomly appeared sucking their thumbs and crying for mom. And I'm sorry, but it all seemed to me to be one big excuse to bring back Sephiroth and let him fight with Cloud...in ANIMATION.

And the "other side of the plot" didn't exist. Kadaj was trying to do this, yes, but wherein lies a story? That's just a goal that's he trying for based on...? You, the viewer, have no idea.

While it did clear up a few things, I wouldn't really say that it was a refresher to the FF7 storyline since the movie relied heavily on the audience's knowledge before watching the movie. It didn't waste any time on going back to the past besides the small opening of cut scenes, but that in itself didn't do anything but sum up, rather loosely, what happened.

I can agree with you about there being no character development in the movie. But I think this movie was actually intended for people who had already played the game and beaten it. Sure there were more characters in the movie, but even in the game there isnt much character development outside of the main characters. The only ones that could have been developed were Kadaj and his two brothers and the little boy (whose name escapes me), Marlene's story was already addressed in the game ( ... )

Well I agree that it was for people who had already played the game, of course. I didn't mean to actually critisize that element as it's already been sort of understood that that was what it was going to be, but I believe that character development was necessary in order to make the audience care a little bit more about what was going on. As I said before, it's been 2 years since the incident. People and events change. They could have expanded on that a little bit more to allow the audience to really get a feel for who everyone was.

When I say the basis for their goal was unknown, I was wrong. I worded that wrongly, but yeah. They want to reunite with Jenova cause blahblahblah. What I wanted to know was where the hell they came from and what they've been doing for the past two years. A little background information never hurt anyone.

Yeah...I haven't been keeping up either, since I quit and all. But I haven't checked my friend's page in a few days...and find you have updated, so now I must comment lol. I think they should give me the rights to the movie so I can rewrite it completely so it has a STORYLINE....JUST GIVE ME 5 - 8 YEARS AND WE'LL SEE A SEQUAL OR SOMETHING
