SARAH: We need to talk about her. Whatever happened with the explosion it's flipped a switch. She's reverted or something.
JOHN: She knows everything.
SARAH: I know.
JOHN: How we run, where we'll go, who we've been, who we'll be. She's stronger and faster.
SARAH: We have to kill her, John.
JOHN: I know! I know.
I wasn't expecting that twist. Niice
CAMERON: I need to find them. It's life or death.
CAMERON: Call to him.
SARAH: No.
CAMERON: Call to him.
CAMERON: John. John, you can't do this. You don't know what you are about to do.
JOHN: Yes, I do. You're going to kill me.
CAMERON: No, John. You're not doing the right thing. Things are good now. I ran a test. I'm fixed now. You can trust me now. I'm good. Everything's perfect. I'm perfect. I'm sorry for what I did. I'm sorry. It wasn't me. You can't let this happen, John. Listen to me! I don't want to go. I love you! I love you, please. I love you, John and you love me!
I love how she knows exactly how to get to him. Question if what he's doing is right, assure him everything's okay, that she's sorry, and that they love each other. I'm so glad Summer Glau had a chance to be so expressive since I <3 Summer Glau's expressions so. Didn't expect them to go there, but happy they did. I would also have accepted manipulation and inappropriate relationship between her and Sarah or her and Derek.
DEREK: They carry death with them
JOHN: She's different. I made her. I sent her back. She's different.
DEREK: She's not different.
JOHN: There's physical damage to her chip which means she can be repaired -
DEREK: John.
JOHN: I need her. She saved my life. She saves my life!
I love the fact that Future!John made her, no doubt esp. for himself. And I like the potential that she really is different, but you never know what she's capable of since she's still a terminator.
SARAH: I know what you saw today. I know what you did and I'm so proud of you. Maybe you can fix her. I know you want to try. But I can't let you. I just can't.
JOHN: So burn her. Let's get the hell out of here.
SARAH: What she said back there. Everything she said was a trick, you know that right? They don't feel anything. They don't have feelings. They don't know love.
JOHN: I know that, mom.
JOHN: I'm sorry.
SARAH: John, she'll kill you.
JOHN: There's only one way to find out.
CAMERON: Are you here to kill me, John.
JOHN: Are you here to kill me?
CAMERON: No.
JOHN: Promise.
CAMERON: Promise.
I was starting to get worried there. I need my Summer Glau! It was very much in character for John to hold on to hope and be a complete idiot by taking that kind of risk. I love the shot of him and Cameron on one side and everyone else on the other.
CAMERON: Faith isn't part of my programming.
SARAH: Yeah, well I'm not sure it's part of mine either.
CAMERON: Don't let him do that again. If I ever go bad again, don't let him bring me back.
I wonder how Cameron is going to react to him from here on out. Her only mission is to protect him and his attachment to her has put him in danger. She'll have to to remind him of what she is.
I like that for once on TV it's two *women* who are the hardened ones who know better and have only one thing in common: protect the innocent *boy* from his own naiveness.
SARAH: I need you to know everything that happened today, everything that we did, it was all - it just happened the way it did and there's nothing we can do to change it. Whatever happened, we're alive. Okay, we're alive. I know you need more from me today, but it's going to have to be enough. Can you hear me? Are you listening?
JOHN: I am listening.
SARAH: Happy birthday.
Thank god for the haircut! Also, nothing like a little homicide to make a birthday special. I love how she's tearing herself apart with worry about what this life is doing to him. Meanwhile, he really does understand he has to grow up and fast.
Also, Derek is an asshole. But in a hot damaged way ;) And Shirley Manson was one big eh although the character reveal of her being a second generation terminator should be interesting. Her song was good, but ...
I prefer
Regina Spektor's Samson as a related episode title song.
