I've ordered them here Remus Lupin laid spread across his four-poster, book in hand. His eyes scanned fixedly over the pages, other than that, he stayed motionless besides the occasional flip of the page. Remus had started this book yesterday, and hadn't been able to put it down. Until.
"Mooooooony!" came a voice from outside the dorm room. Remus closed his eyes and exhaled. Remus knew who it was, and knew what was going to happen next. He only wish he'd had enough time to hide.
"Oh Moony, young moony." Sirius started as he shuffled his way over to Remus.
"It's the beginning of the Christmas Holidays, there's Christmas fun going on everywhere and your up here reading a stupid book!" Sirius exclaimed.
"Well I happen to think it's a much more appropriate use of my time than throwing Gingerbread Wizards at the Slytherins." Remus said sharply.
"Ah, and that's where you are mistaken. Me and James were sling shotting Dungbombs at them!" Sirius said with a chuckle. Remus rolled his eyes.
"What are you reading anyway" Sirius said as he made a lunge for the book Remus was holding.
"Siri-"
"Woothering Heights?" Sirius said mockingly. "Stupid Muggle books" Sirius said tossing it away.
"Why do you even bother?"
"Sometimes, fantasies are better than reality" Remus said softly.
"Whatever you say Moony, but that little speech isn't going to get you out of coming to play with me!" Sirius said with a huge smile spreading across his face.
"Can't you just play with James?"
"Prongs has ditched me for Flame head"
"By Flame head, I assume you mean Lily?"
"Yes, It's a new nickname i'm trying out. Since she's around us so much now, I figured she'd want one. Make her feel part of the group." Sirius said half-heartedly.
"I don't think she'd like it at all actually" Remus said truthfully.
"I know. That's why I'm doing it" Sirius said as he grabbed Remus' arm and began to pull him off the bed. "Up you get Lupin, that's a boy!" Sirius said sheepishly.
Sirius reached the bottom of the common room stairs, Remus dragging along a step behind. The common room was empty, seeing as most of the Gryffindor students had gone home for the Christmas holidays. Sirius hummed Christmas carols as he happily dragged Remus out of the common room and into the halls of Hogwarts.
"Alright, alright i'm out. What are we doing anyway?" Remus said tonelessly.
"Hmm.. Oh the many thing we could do" Sirius pondered as he began to walk with no set destination.
"Chocolate Frog?" Remus said reaching into his pocket and holding out two Chocolate Frogs.
"Don't mind if I do" said Sirius snatching one from Remus' hand.
Ripping apart the wrappers of their Frogs, they both pulled out their Chocolate Frog cards, curious to know which famous Witch or Wizard would appear on theirs.
"I got Dumbledore" said Sirius disapointedly. "I swear there must be a gazillion Dumbledore cards out there! It's the only card I ever get."
"I got Cliodna"
"No way!" Sirius peered over at Remus' card to see. "She's only like, the finest looking witch in the history of fine looking witches!" Sirius shouted.
"What a title!" said Remus jokingly.
"Give me, Give me, Give me" Sirius said childishly, jumping up and down.
"No, I think i'll keep this one" Remus said pocketing the card.
But before Remus could even show a winning grin, he was pushed to the ground. Sirius on top of him, tickling him all over.
"OOF!"
"I WANT IT"
"BAH! Geroff!"
Playfully, the boys tackled each other. Laughing hysterically, they rolled around, not quite sure what was so funny. Finally sitting up, Sirius put his hair back in place as Remus did up a button of his shirt that had popped open.
Above them, something began to move. A green vine squirmed and writhered down from the roof until something red appeared at the end.
"Is that - " Remus started.
"Mistletoe"
Sirius looked into Remus' eyes.
"Well, Fantasies aren't always better than reality now are they"
