"And that is why I'm the best chaser in Hogwarts." Rang James as he inflated his own ego beyond belief. At this point Lily had figured it was a mistake to agree to spend time with him. Was there ever a minute he wasn't talking about himself. Of course this wasn't it, because there he went again about why he thinks, oh bloody hell, Lily couldn't even follow him at this point.
"Potter...Potter..... JAMES" Finally he snapped out of whatever he was saying about some flying cat before he took down some more firewhiskey. Which really wasn't helping the situation any better. "Let's talk about some--" She didn't even have a chancce to finish it before his eyes seem to dart halfway across the bar behind her causing her to look and glare back a bit annoyed.
Looking almost transfixed in his state, Lily cleared her throat before taking a sip of her own drink. Was he really starring off at some other girl? While she was there? The more she thought about it while she watched his unbroken gaze she couldn't believe how much of a prat he could really be.
"James?" Trying to bring his attention back, almost missing his egotistical, drunken rants.
"Mhmmmmm...." He resounded almost dreamily as he continued to stare off.
"I love you" Figuring that would might snap him back, though realizing what it could possible turn into considering his state.
"That's nice..."
"I'm marrying Severus."
"Congratulations....."
Surely, he would have had a mouthful to say to that. Yet, still unfazed. Looking back, Lily couldn't figure out who he could possibly be staring at but didn't have the intention of sticking around to find out. Watching his chin fall into his palm, she removed herself from the barstool and left the Three Broomsticks without being noticed.
It wasn't until a few minutes later did Madame Rosemerta come over to James to clear the bottles. His goofy grin on his face as he smiled at her.
"Did your girlfriend leave, love?" She asked handing him another bottle.
It wasn't until that point did he realize that Lily had left. Starring at the barmaid for a few more moments, he ran right out.

It was the lot of them, the Marauders plus Lily. Sirius and James nearly to the point of standing on the tables and belting out muggle rock music if it wasn't for Remus' sanity no matter how much everyone knew even he would want to see that. As Sirius looked down into his lonely liquidless bottle he turned to Peter, who still seemed to be on his second. "OY Petey! Go fetch us another round." But even before he could pull the bottle from his mouth to retort, not that he'd say no, James already butt in. "Isn't it your job to fetch, Padfoot." Barely being about to finish his words as he fell laughing into Lily's hair. Only to have Sirius flick some crumbs at him as he hid.
Tossing the ones right back, Lily tried not to snicker as it hit him square in the nose. "If you want it then why don't you get it you lazy arse?" She said trying not to laugh as James burrowed his nose deeper into her hair, possibly avoiding being selected. "Alright Evans, you go this time. I'll go the next three times." With that being said Lily's bright smile turned downward. "You aren't going to have me --"
"Yes."
"But"
"I loathe you, Black." With that, Lily stood up from the table with her drink in hand and headed towards the bar. She was only there for a few moments before some elderly wizard moved a seat closer to her. She was going to kill Sirius.
"Wotcher, doll." The man said with a snaggle tooth as he smiled, Lily was definitely going to hurt Sirius. "What 're ye drinking?"
She Looked back over her shoulder, they were all giving her the thumbs up. Bloody gits they all were. "Firewhiskey." She replied with a reproachful smile. "But I should get back--"
"Firewhiskey." He already ordered. His eyes watching her.
"My friends, I should-"
"and her friends."
As the barmaid agreed and brought the drinks over to the table to where the boys had already started while Lily tried to pry herself away from the old man trying to explain to him that she was probably far too young for him but was willing to find him someone better. As she finally did so, she punched Sirius square in the shoulder knowing how much it possibly couldn't hurt before she heard James bellow to them. "This is why I love Lily Evans."
