You did well, Gideon. In the situation.

*grits his teeth for a split second*
*shuttered look* Thank you, Lucius.

I wouldn't have been able to do anything, if that had happened to me.

I suppose I was lucky, in that sence not to have any siblings. Although I'm sure you'd say I missed out?

yay for Welsh! even if I failed the course....

You never really know how you'll react until afterwards.

Naturally, but then I get along well with both my siblings, and Fabian and I are very close as twins are wont to be.

Hee. :) At school, or later?

*listens quietly, watching Gideon's profile against the dimly lit wall behind him*

*stays quiet a while after he stops talking, then rolls onto his side to face him* *evenly* Was he at St. Mungo's for long?

*lies still, very caught up in the memory, his emotions, even though they're only shadows of what they were in the memory, very immediate to him in the dark of the room*

*quietly* No, just for two days. It was a plain injury, very grave, yes, but no malicious magic to counter-act the healing. They kept him over night to treat him and throughout the next day for observation. In the evening he was allowed home again. *pauses and rubs his hand over his face* I... I stayed through the night, too.

*isn't at all surprised to hear Gideon stayed over night* On your own?

I don't suppose they let you see him until the next day, though? The healers at St Mungo's have always been rather strict whenever I've encountered them.

*would quite like to catch his hand - or rather, thinks that's what Gideon would do if their roles were reversed - but doesn't touch him, yet* I suppose you were rather more used to evading capture at that age than me, though.

*shakes his head a little on the pillow* No, our parents stayed, too. They were too concerned for both of us. My father flooed home to make some calls to the family, especially our sister, but he returned afterwards.

We were allowed to see him briefly after they'd patched him up, but he was still unconcious then. *falls still, when he speaks his tone is somewhere between amusement and a little uneven because of the force of the memory* My parents turned a blind eye when I snuck into Fabian's room around midnight and stayed there until morning. *had actually lain down next to his brother on the bed*

I suppose that explains why you were closer than normal, that last year at school.

It's commendable though, how quickly you acted, it's not something everyone could have done.

It might, yes.

*shrugs half-heartedly* All those pranks must've been good for something.

*raises an eyebrow but there's amusement in her voice*
You learnt how to cope with severe injury from playing pranks? What on Earth were you doing to warrant that, Prewett?

*more serious tone*
I wouldn't shrug it off though - a cool head under crisis is a rare virtue these days.

Not severe injuries, Dahlia. Withstanding stress and keeping a cool head in panic-instilling situations were what I meant.

It just shows that there may be something good in what one's been doing for years and years after all. I do believe our parents didn't really mind anymore all those letters they received from Hogwarts during our time at school.

*a small smile makes it onto his face*

*relaxes a little at his smile, returning it a little*
If it helps, I know what it's like... a brother getting hurt.

I have missed you and all this ridiculously much! Real life should leave me alone for a while. *pouts*

*quietly* Yes, you do.
*looks at her for a moment*
It's awful, isn't it?

*stuffs RL into a trunk and throws the key away - it can come back when it's less hassling, thank you very much* ;)

*looks at Gideon with mingled sympathy and admiration*

You saved his life, with your quick thinking.

*returns her look calmly for a moment, then turns his head away*
*very quietly* I'm very glad I did.
