I suppose that explains why you were closer than normal, that last year at school.

It's commendable though, how quickly you acted, it's not something everyone could have done.

It might, yes.

*shrugs half-heartedly* All those pranks must've been good for something.

*raises an eyebrow but there's amusement in her voice*
You learnt how to cope with severe injury from playing pranks? What on Earth were you doing to warrant that, Prewett?

*more serious tone*
I wouldn't shrug it off though - a cool head under crisis is a rare virtue these days.

Not severe injuries, Dahlia. Withstanding stress and keeping a cool head in panic-instilling situations were what I meant.

It just shows that there may be something good in what one's been doing for years and years after all. I do believe our parents didn't really mind anymore all those letters they received from Hogwarts during our time at school.

Panic on your end or the recipient's I wonder.

Yes, well, when it results in the life of your son being saved I can't imagine why not.

Sometimes the latter was followed by the former, it always depended on who else happened to be around. Having Professor McGonagall swoop down on you can be quite the terrifying experience.

Yes, I know. Although I was luckier in not being in her House I think - Slughorn wasn't nearly as scary if he caught you.

Well, I wasn't in her house, either, and neither was Fab, but that didn't deter her from ordering us into her office every so often. Having Flitwick swoop down on you doesn't make for much of a scare, and Carmichael before him was too old to be scary any longer.

True, but she was always more reluctant to deal with the Slytherins - too much old house rivalry there I think. I'll agree with you about Flitwick though - there's something inherently unworrying about being berated by someone shorter than you.

*grins* Yes, he does have the disadvantage of being rather tiny. It didn't take away from his authority in class, but that didn't translate all that well to authority in the corridors.

No, and the reputation of being a former duelling champion is fine as long as the students don't realise that you're not allowed to actually hex them. *half-smiles* Unfortunately.

Not really, no. I'd have been most interested to see him fight, actually, but sadly the Duelling Club was only instated after we left.
