Punched, Poisoned and Pelted with Fruit

I'm thoroughly over excited about Merlin today. I would've watched "The Once and Future Queen" last night, but my housemates and I (yes! Housemates! I live in uni accomodation! *glee*) decided to order pizza to celebrate our first week, and then watched "The Breakfast Club". Brilliant film! A geek, sport, princess, loser and a weirdo stuck in a Saturday detention; it's really interesting and it gets pretty psycological in places. Intriguing.

But anyway, I watched Merlin this morning! It's amaaaaazing :D I love the way the Gwen/Arthurness is developing (though of course I'd rather Merlin and Arthur marry, but let's face it, it is never going to happen except in fanfiction :P), and Merlin trying to cover up his snort of laughter when Arthur describes a made-up beast as having "the body of a lion, the wings of an eagle and the...face of... a bear" is brilliant. However, the best part was Merlin's speech when Gaius reprimands him for "sitting around doing nothing" when he should be doing chores for Gaius (everyone thinks Arthur is away, and therefore Merlin should have plenty of free time, but of course he isn't but Merlin can't explain that to Gaius):

Merlin: Do you think I sit around all day doing nothing? I haven't had a chance to sit around and do nothing since the day I arrived in Camelot, too busy running after Arthur! Do this Merlin, do that Merlin, and when I'm not running around after Arthur I'm doing chores for you, and when I'm not doing that, I'm fulfilling my destiny! Do you know how many times I've saved Arthur's life? I've lost count! Do I get any thanks? No! I have fought griffins, witches, bandits, I've been punched, poisoned and pelted with fruit, and all the while I have to hide who I really am, because if anyone finds out Uther will have me executed! Sometimes I feel like I'm being pulled in so many directions I don't know which way to turn!

I wanted to pull him out of the screen and hug him to death :P Poor thing. And you can't help being sympathetic, because he doesn't say this in a whining way, more of a "I'm at the end of my tether and now you're shouting at me?!?!" kind of way.

Also, the awesomness of Gwen telling Arthur that he snores (and sounds like a pig when he does it) can not be exaggerated. :D

I was going to write a lot more, but I can't think of anything...hmmm...
Nope, nothing. :)
Well, I'm working on a couple of fanfictions at the moment: "The Boosh's Prayer", "Valentine's Day" and an as yet untitled Merlin one (he other two being in the world of the Mighty Boosh) Those should be posted sometime soon...
Until then,
Hazel :P
