Adventures in housesitting

Things were fairly uneventful for the majority of the day. I did the kitty stuff, had breakfast, and went swimming. I also was playing with some script ideas, one would had an indie-movie feel to it; dialogue heavy and focused on characters, not effects and stuff. The other is the nitpicky horror idea I've been struggling with forever. It's still just a small idea though. I need to work on that one. But the other one seems much more tangible, I can already envision dialogue and scenes. I just wish I had my own computer hooked up so I could install Final Draft and start writing something. I'll just have to wrote notes in my notebook and hope they don't die out.

After all that I came back inside to check the kitty stuff, and was greeted by the sight of a large (very large) puddle in the cat room. It wasn't flooded, but it was more than a spill. There's a hose that leaks condensation from the air conditioner, and apparently the drain the water should be going down, has stopped draining. I mopped up everything with about a billion paper towels, saw it was still leaking and called the people I'm housesitting for. She apologized a bunch, and after consulting with her husband, told me to find an empty kitty litter out back and let the water fill in that, then just empty it out. They don't want a plumber here without them, which I can understand. It'll be fairly annoying, but it's either that or stock up on paper towels. Hopefully the water won't fill up too quickly.

My cousin sent me an Amazon gift certificate, and I was able to buy "Life Is Beautiful" with it. Me = Happy. I watched "Mulan" which I hadn't seen before, and earlier I watched "Brigadoon" which I had seen before but it was a long time ago and I only remembered the last 5 seconds of it. "Mulan" was cute and amusing. Kinda like "Tarzan" where the music wasn't the best, and it was nothing compared to classic Disney, but it wasn't as awful as I thought it would be. "Brigadoon" I loved though. It was so romantic and sweet and the music was great. The "Scottish" accents were laughable, but I'll forgive them because the rest was so good. Makes me want to watch more Gene Kelly movies. God, he was gorgeous. And so talented. They don't make them like they used to.

My birthday's tomorrow! =Þ
