This post is the long-delayed coda to my (much) earlier posts about vid quality and the learning process by which vid quality improves. I'm focusing now on the ways in which vidders give feedback to other vidders, and specifically on some bad feedbacking habits that I've observed in myself and others and that I'm trying to unlearn.

My earlier post on quality was (among other things) a plea for differentiation between "quality" and "personal preference," since although both are valid grounds for assessment, the two are emphatically not the same. So I have a new theory about why those of us who do feedbackable things don't get more feedback. It's because an entire large group of people who watch our vids or read our fic don't believe that we really exist.

I should preface this post by saying that I largely missed out on the recent kerfluffle about sending and responding to feedback, mostly because by the time I got around to checking out the relevant posts they appeared to have devolved into ad hominem attacks on an assortment of people I don't even know.
