Scene: in the room, pre-Club Vivid. Mely has burrowed under the covers for a restorative nap; h.l is slathering gunk into her hair.
here's luck: You know, I don't have much in common with Angel, but I think we have a similar approach to hair products.
Mely emerges from under covers and peers towards mirror.
mely: You don't look like Angel. You look ( Read more... )

That was terrific! May I add it to my Humor memories?
And, it doesn't really matter that you don't know much pop culture because, your vids take up for it.

I had to look up "lacuna" before I'd let myself post. (:

The Wolverine thing killed me. Mely is right as usual!

See and I was all "Season 2 Crichton Hair" but now I have to pull out my X-Men DVDs and re-evaluate that stand.

And Max Headroom *was* a commercial first and then a cancelled TV series. Mulder's ex-girlfriend - the English Chick from first season - was in it. Not that I know this off the top of my head or anything. Cause that would be wrong. Ish. Wrongish.

I like that you have this gap - it means I can tell you stuff and I could be making this totally up and you'd never know. Also - the fact that you cannot name the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles makes you a very special and unique member of our generation. You could be the Scientific Control.

Well, all of the pop culture tidbit stuff that she could be making up is true, anyway. Although, it's also true that she could make stuff up and you would never know. And that you're the Scientific Control. Yeah, it's pretty much all renenet-certified true. Of course, I could be in on the conspiracy ( ... )

Dude - I was in love with the name. I also remember a time Before and a time when it seemed to preposterous to actually be happening - and then it was and I was again reminded of the amazing surreal quality that is real actual life.

It's like we are all on acid and don't even know it except when things like this happen. But this is how I usually embrace the utterly ridiculous and impossible but true, at first. Later, there comes the derision - but that is later.

Remember the Spring of Achy-Breaky Heart Fever? Remember how the dance *swept* America? I was just fascinated - I still am (as long as I have control of the mute button) and remained agog until it (in terms of total ridiculousness) was topped by the Macarena.

People and their faddish needs are endlessly surprising. Sometimes in a wonderful way.

Not that I had a favorite Turtle or anything.

Your gunk makes you look like demon mutant fennel, but smells like citrus. It's like an entire vegetable garden all in itself.

Yes indeed, if citrus fruits were, well, vegetables.

*g*

It's been observed that the demon mutant fennel rather resembles Frank from Donnie Darko. So if I look like the fennel... I can't decide whether I'm more horrified or pleased by where this line of thought is going.

You were the one who used the icon. You've brought it upon yourself.

If vegetable gardens can also grow herbs, I don't see why they can't grow fruit. I suspect fennel and citrus don't thrive in the same climates, but that just means it's a mutant demon garden, which we already knew.

Laura would probably tell you that *everything* grows in California, but I'm not at all sure that that negates the "mutant demon garden" theory.
