My two weeks has gone by rather uneventfully, I did my presentation on Zombies with everything going wrong that could. The SMART board disabled my touch pad on my laptop when fully connected, I had to unhook the usb in order to use my mouse; My video clip of the RvB PSA about Zombie Plans I very foolishly left on my external hard drive back at home; And just as things were going well, my computer battery died and I had to reboot to plug in. All that aside, I actually did pretty well. Some people commented about it being a topic not chosen with everyone in mind, but that wasn't a criteria so screw 'em. One comment sheet asked me if I really believe in zombies or if I knew they were just a myth which was a good laugh. Next up is a persuasive speech, which I have no idea what to do it on. So feel free to leave any suggestions for me.
I finished and handed in my play on Dr. Awesome Science, which was read out loud this week. I was mildly concerned after learning the layout of the workshops, being that we read a 6 minute play and then talk about it for an hour. It's not a strict guideline, it's just what happens since my classmates all say what they liked and disliked etc. and it always comes down to the "meaning" of the play. My play doesn't have meaning, it's nonsense. But it went over pretty well, everyone thought my play was funny and loved the characters. Funny enough, the consensus was that my play should be given a darker undertone which was the opposite of what I expected. I suppose us artsies can be surprising too.
Last weekend I went to Victoria to see Chris, we played a LOT of video games. We got a couple of achievements for getting over 200,000 points in different Firefight levels in ODST, and got an achievement for getting a star in every spec ops level in Modern Warfare 2. It was a lot of fun, we stayed up until 2 in the morning the first night in Owen's building and introduced Jess to the halo world. The second night it was just Mike and Will joining us in Mike's building for a magical Valentine's night, but we got a couple of levels done rather just the one since Chris is a more adept gamer than Jess haha.
Monday we tried to get a zombie horde together to get some filming done but everyone was too busy, so Chris took me to the place he's looking at to hold HvZ this semester to show me around. Looks like a lot of fun and more diverse playing field for sure. It's all hush hush though, which is just you busy guys' loss :P
Then I came back so I could go to class, which was a shame since all I did in my public sleep class was draw a couple of check marks and try not to fall asleep. After a weekend of gaming into the early hours of the morning I found it difficult to sleep before my 9 am class, so I ended up not sleeping at all. Which means I had time to shower before that class for the first time ever, haha. I had a nap after class, somehow managed to get up even before my alarm went off. Be amazed, I am.
And now it's Thursday night, instead of getting ready for a Victoria trip I'm rubbing my hand cause it got thwacked by a breaking guitar string. Chris is heading up to Mount Washington for his sister's birthday tomorrow, and hopefully I'll be heading down to Vic with him on Saturday so we can get some filming done before next weekend when we're going film for my movie/commercial/video thing. We just need to figure out how I'm going to get home during the week, or if I will. Cause woo reading break means I don't have 6 hours of class this week, aye aye. Outstanding isn't it?
