Life's Little Happenings
My my my, the past few days have certainly been eventful! On Saturday was of course the duel - I wasawfully disappointed about certain sad events, and in fact was rather surprised that our Headmaster did not see it fit to issue any punishment for a duel which landed one young man in the hospital wing! However - such things are unfortunately not under my control, so I shall restrict myself to certain young men who think it amusing to disrupt the sleep of their housemates!
Moving on to more pleasant matters, I received the most delightful letter yesterday from one of the top officials at the Ministry of Magic! My dear friend Roddy Pontner, who is a new member of the Accidental Magic Reversal Department, introduced me to the most charming man this summer, and he just owled me a reply to my last note! His name is Cornelius Fudge and he is in fact Head of Obliviator Headquarters. I had of course told him all about my hopes of joining the Ministry after I leave Hogwarts and he was most kind in responding to my inquiries! What's more, from what I hear from Roddy, Mr. Fudge has several friends in some very important places. I do hope that by the time I leave I shall have enough contacts at the Ministry to ensure a successful future there, but I am quite sure that with such a pleasant gentleman I have made an excellent start!
As for this silly business which seems to have taken over everyone's conversation of late I really have nothing to say. It's quite ridiculous to waste one's time speculating about something so trivial as which student decides to engage in impropriety with which other student! I must say though that if Mr. Black ever wishes to regain the favor of certain important people, he had best consider which young ladies he chooses to publicly embarrass himself with!
