Me
Farmington Hills, MI 48335
Thank you . . .
. . for contacting me about reducing the number of days the United States Postal Service (USPS) delivers mail. I understand your concerns.
As you may know, federal law has mandated the current six-day delivery of mail since 1983. In an effort to cut costs, the Postmaster General has proposed eliminating services and laying off workers. However, these changes cannot come at the expense of Michigan families losing their jobs, health care and pensions. The USPS currently employs more than 650,000 people in more than 32,000 post offices nationwide, including 25,000 employees in Michigan alone. As Congress continues to debate this important matter, I will keep your views in mind.
Thank you again for contacting me. Please continue to keep me informed about issues of concern to you and your family.
Sincerely,
Debbie Stabenow
