Y'know, fun's fun and politics is politics, but in this situation (to quote a certain former President) I feel their pain.
It's one thing for the McCain campaign to make the tactical (or is it strategic? I'm a veteran and even I sometimes get them confused) decision to withdraw resources from Michigan. The decision can be argued either way.
It's quite another for them to announce it in such a way that it dominates the news cycle leading into the VP debate. That was a miscue, no two ways about it.
And now they have dissension in their ranks, and a couple of loose cannons they had to toss overboard. It was the only decision they could have made, and I for one am sorry it went down the way it did.
Anyway, game on.
