Enh, I just have a burr my ass lately. :) Usually I'm not this bad. In fact, after a good night's sleep I looked at this post and was like "that was a bit unnecessary."
I actually like David Thorpe's writing style. That's not to say I agree with his points of view, but the way he presents them makes me laugh. He's one of the few people whom I can tolerate hating the music I like because he can at least do it in an entertaining way. Besides, every time he says something bad about the music I like, I just remind myself that the little bit of indication of stuff he likes has pretty much been festering piles of fetid shit that one would have to be daft to call music

You really could make an academic study of /b/ and the others. Just the other day, Jeff was outlining a similar thesis to yours--that /b/ is a sacred playground of sorts, and what goes on /b/ is patently unacceptable elsewhere. Newbies are forgetting this and essentially taking Fight Club where it doesn't belomg.
