A wise way to deal with the trials and tribulations of living among simple-minded idiots. I've been entertaining the notion of hope for quite a long time, and as of yet, I've found no evidence to suggest that it shall ever be fulfilled.

We were going to go fishing, but when the flood turned worse I thought it would be better to wait in case there were people who needed help... [She falters at this point and falls silent.]

And is that what you wish to do? Help them should trouble arise?

Yes. It's kind of what we...I do. I didn't want something to happen and have us be too far away to get back in time.

Do you know how to hotwire a boat? Because I don't.

[Doesn't remember her. Behaves like the jerks in high school. The more Willow talks to him, the more she doesn't want to try. But, she can't give up, right?]

Everything must survive for a reason, even those brought to this town. Surely they have survived for a reason.

freedomtoleave March 15 2011, 00:58:41 UTC
What reason might that be, I wonder?

Ironically most people say you started the whole evolution thing, right? Tree of wisdom, the knowledge of right and wrong.

...I'm guessing you're not particularly impressed.

And how wrong they would be.

You're quite right. I'm not the least bit impressed.

...

Is your house okay? [Code for: "Are you okay?" which she knows is a dumb question.]

Considering the state of the other homes in town, I suspect not. However, as I'm not there, I can't verify whether it's intact.

Yours has taken damage, I assume?
