I thought I'd better do my daily post now in case the internet has disappeared again later on!
Today was a bit different from a normal Thursday - instead of going in to college for teaching input, we had the option to stay at home and work on our assignments, or go into college and work on our assignments there with the tutor available there if we needed it. I knew perfectly well that if I went into college I would drink tea, chat and get nothing done, so I chose to stay at home. I combined assignment writing with admin which I needed to catch up on (some of it generated by today's post) and doing my cleaning in the church hall.
Assignment was completed and printed out by just after half past two, so that's good. :-) I can hand it in tomorrow and the Friday tutor will pass it on to the Thursday tutor.
Tim picked the children up from school and is keeping them all overnight and till after school tomorrow, so I've done my last school run this week, hurrah! That means a more leisurely morning tomorrow which I'm looking forward to.
The fruit and veg box from the milkman arrived yesterday morning and it was terribly exciting! There was more in it than I was expecting and it all looked lovely! In the evening out of curiosity I went on the Tesco website and filled a virtual basket with the equivalent products from their greengrocery section - the basket came to £7.59 which is 41 pence cheaper than the milkman veg box, so when I factor in delivery and the fact that the veg is so much nicer than the Tesco veg (I know this now because I have eaten some, yum!) I am satisfied that we're getting a good deal. And supporting a local business into the bargain!
This morning both the younger children went to school with kiwi fruit for their morning snack, out of the veg box. And I have now used some potatoes, some cabbage, a couple of carrots and half an onion. There was a 'recipe of the week' leaflet in the box as well, for cauliflower cheese, so as I never do a very good job of that, I'm going to follow the recipe with the cauliflower we have and see if we all enjoy it!
As I've finished the assignment and have no children here, I am going to go to sofachurch tonight - we're going for a walk to collect natural stuff to dry out and make sculptures out of next month! No idea if I'll be able to attend the sculpture making session, but I thought going for a walk sounded nice on a gorgeous evening like this.
And before sofachurch I'm going to walk round to
mrsrevj's house and have a cup of tea with her, hurrah!
