(no subject)
Just sat down with the children and all together we have made some 'house rules and guidelines'. We've printed them out, all of us have signed them, and they are now stuck on the wall. They are all rules I have to stick to as well - including 'no eating in bedrooms', which will be a big change for me as my bedroom is also the living room and I'm always snacking/eating breakfast/lunch in there! I don't allow the children to eat in the living room either, so I've decided I need to stick to the rules too and will only eat in the dining room from now on. This may well be a good way to cut down on the numbers of packets of crisps I can get through in an evening!
I'm really pleased we've done it; we've set out some good guidelines for happy family life.
In a minute I will feed the children their tea and then it will be time for the Friday evening drive-around! L2 and L3 to Fusion for 6.30, then home again with L1 until dropping her at Scouts for 7.30. Then straight back up to Fusion to collect L2 and L3 at 7.45. Home with them and get them to bed, and then Mum will come round for about 9.20 to sit in the house with the younger 2 so I can drive out and collect L1 from Scouts at 9.30! I'm just so thankful I've got the car - we just wouldn't manage it all otherwise.
Heard from Income Support today, a lady phoned to make a quick query and said she was processing my claim this afternoon! That's good news. I also finally had the letter from the council to tell me that the children had been entitled to free school meals since Monday - good job I had assumed that then isn't it? *g*
I'm sitting here without the light on and suddenly can't see my keyboard any more - it has gone very very ominously dark and windy out there; I reckon it is about to pour down! Maybe even a storm... good job I lent Mum my umbrella to go home with last night - she might well need it later to come here!
