I took all the children to St. Andrew's this morning because Little One was down on the serving rota. It was very hard work getting up and out for that sort of time, but good practice for tomorrow when we will have to do it even earlier!
I sat in the service at the beginning thinking how much I didn't want to be there, and how lovely it would be to be still in bed, but actually I quite enjoyed it in the end and I'm glad we went. Chatted with Akela at the end and he wants me to go and help with Cubs on a regular basis on the first Wednesday of each month. I'm really, really pleased. :-D And that means I get to be there this Wednesday when Little One gets her Silver Award presented.
Walked home (Tim very kindly gave us a lift there and dropped us off because he needed the car) and it was SNOWING! Only lightly, but it has persisted and is settling a bit. Little Two was over the moon, and the minute we got in the front door he went straight out of the back door to play in the yard! He is still out there now, though he did come in for long enough to eat lunch!
Since a female blackbird came and finished off the few remains of the reindeer food on Christmas morning, we have had one or two birds come and sit hopefully on our wall. We've never had birds in our garden before and I really want to encourage them so I sprinkled some bread out there a little earlier. While we were eating our lunch a few birds came and ate, which was very exciting - a blackbird, a robin and a thrush. We sprinkled our croissant crumbs out there after lunch and some of those got eaten too, but Little Two is now out there which will be putting the birds off I am sure!
Tim managed to get all the papers done single handed this morning which is amazing because they only arrived yesterday afternoon and we had been rather hoping they weren't going to come at all! He also brought croissants home for lunch which were lovely. Shortly we are all going to go upstairs and watch another downloaded episode of Merlin which is about to expire. We might eventually catch up and get to the end of the series, but it's taking ages!
