Hector placed his cell phone down on his desk after ending his phone call - another real estate appointment cancelled. His apologetic agent was snowed in his house in one of the quieter suburbs outside the city. With the constant foot traffic outside his own home, Hector took for granted that some people were physically incapable of leaving their residences when the snowfall was too great.
It was just as well; Hector went back and forth in his mind often whether or not a move was a wise decision. True, his current home was located in the heart of the city, with easy access to everything that he and Lacroix might require, but it lacked the quiet privacy that so many death mages craved. With the tension between the elder mages of their cabal, Hector thought it might be a prudent time to leave the nest, so to speak.
Moving would be so much of a hassle, and he worried about the impact it might have on Lacroix to live further outside of downtown.
But the promise of safety and privacy outweighed his concerns. Still, it was something he’d have to ponder over further, and visit more potential houses, before he’d be comfortable springing the idea on his apprentice.
