Hector carefully arranged the tiny glass jars on the dining room table in front of Lacroix, a crumbled powder of bone dust in each one. The people that these bones had came from were long dead - save one, who’d merely had his arm amputated but was still alive to this day. The latter was meant as a bit of a challenge for Lacroix; the younger mage wouldn’t be able to discern anything about the person in question because they had yet to actually die.
This was a simple assignment he’d given Lacroix in the past, but it was a good method of keeping the younger mage’s abilities well-exercised.
"Now tell me how each one’s life ended."
