I don't think I even want to look back at the date of my last post because I know it's been quite awhile since my last post. I admit that job stresses, the holidays, Paul being without a job, and the great time suck known as Facebook (hehe) I have not been real good about keeping up on my blog. I just need to get myself back into the habit. So here goes..
Paul got a job! He landed a great job as operations manager at Ethan Allen and he loves it! It seems that they love him, too and can really use someone with his expertise, so I think this will turn into a permanent job once his temp contract is up (usually 3 months).
My job isn't going so well. I had a meeting with the clinical director and the owner of the practice a few weeks ago and they essentially put me "on notice." They made mountains out of molehills about some recent very minor clerical mistakes and said that I REFUSED to see a patient (which is completely false) and dragged out the name of some patient who said that they didn't like me and didn't want to see me again about FOUR MONTHS ago! Why would they just now be bringing it up? I have no idea. The clerical errors that were made were piddly little mistakes that get made frequently by ALL of the audiologists (including the director and the owner) but I'm the only one being held accountable?! In my opinion, I think it has something to do with the fact that I told the owner in early December that I'm pregnant and let's just say that he DID NOT take it well. Needless to say, I'm starting to explore other possibilities in the area (ugh!)
Now for the best news, which most of you already know and I kind of spoiled the surprise in the previous rant, but...I'M FINALLY PREGNANT!!! We're all very happy and I'm starting to feel a bit better now that the first trimester is ending and the HORRID morning sickness is starting to disappear. So far everything is going well, and I really like my new doctor. I'm also really excited about the variety or prenatal classes they have around here, including a "luxury lamaze weekend" that they have at a nice local hotel. I think I'll definitely be signing up for that one!
Nathan is actually doing pretty well with all the changes going on around here. He certainly has moments (or in some cases, days) when he doesn't listen too well, but I think that's mostly from his really screwy schedule of late (mostly going down to Florida for Christmas - we won't be doing that again for awhile!) He's very excited about the baby (more than a little impatient to see him/her at times) and he is CONVINCED that it's a girl! It's so cute. We'll just have to wait and see (probably about another 7 weeks until the "big ultrasound"). But if it's anything like last time, it probably will be a girl, because we HAVE a boys name , but have no clue about a girl's name. Last time it was just the opposite (we can't use the girls name that we love and had picked out last time because it's Nathan's best friend/girl friend's name. I'm sure we'll come up with something, though ;)
