Happy Birthday, Rumi!

Sep 28, 2007 09:21

The 800th anniversary of Rumi's birthday is this Sunday. I just had a bit of a mystical experience while coming out of Curves this AM. I think I wrote a bit about getting a Sufi name (if I didn't then I should, shouldn't I?) while mysticactive was visiting. This was certainly a mystic experience where I was told in a dream that I am Sufi and my Sufi name means "Sufiness". LOL! My Sufi name is Sufia.

So, back to this particular story at hand... I came out of Curves this AM- timing is everything here- and got in the car to hear the beginning of a story about Rumi on NPR- http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=14775838 (go and listen to it... it's really an excellent piece). This reminded me so much of mysticactive and our time together. The "fragrence" of our work filled my car as I listened to the story. I remember how much time and space are constructs of reality that change from culture to culture, person to person, and situation to situation. We'd talked about bending time together- and how that works. Alhamdulillah!

Yes. Let's bend time and make it work for us today! Let's get everything that our inner Vision Keepers have for our souls to do completed in a Perfect Time and a Perfect Space. Let's give ourselves a break if we are stretching ourselves too thin and feeling overwhelmed by becoming Time Benders.

So- how does one do this, you ask? I don't exactly know. It comes with prayerful living where every moment is sacred and one is Listening to the Inner Realms giving thanks for everything happening in a Perfect Time and Space and asking for guidence as to what work has to be done in the moment. Remember that "work" may mean taking a bath, or writing a piece of poetry, or going for a walk, or dancing with friends :) just as it may mean cleaning the house or pushing that piece of paper off your desk onto the desk of someone else! That's what I think... I just know as I have experienced that there is time. There is time for everything good- I was challenged to stop thinking "There's just not enough Time!" That is a mantra that closes down the Time Bending capacity that we all have if we tap into it. :D

I don't know exactly why these words had to come out into my LJ today, but hopfully it will assist you along your path today and from here on out... it helped me to remember today.

Oh! ...and Happy Birthday, Rumi, wherever, whenever you are. Your words and spirit live on and touch the spirits of so many! I'm standing in thankfulness for your existence and the mystical, magical words you left us to learn from.
