Power Failure (Friday Morning)

Aug 22, 2014 12:28

When Khan had entered the Lemondrop Lab before dawn, he had expected to find Eli there, ready with the formula programmed. When the man wasn't around, Khan proceeded to the computer room and found that the software had been installed. Fair enough, he thought to himself. Khan then headed to his project.

He admired it for less than a second before heading to the power room for the Labs. Carefully he switched off the mains breakers and jury-rigged a bypass to them, and did the same for the power circuit his trans-warp teleportation device was hooked to. That done, he restored power to the building.

He went back to the daisy-chained computers and booted them up, starting the process of running the calculations. When they were complete, he went back to the teleportation pad.

A stapler would be his test subject.

The computers beeped, indicating that the program had run and was ready to send the stapler to the front door. Khan flipped the switch.

It wasn't quite an explosion, and the stapler did move... just not the way it was supposed to... and the lights went out.

All over the village.

Khan stared at the failed device with a glare that would melt steel. No, the steel was melting... With quick movements Khan grabbed a fire extinguisher and sprayed it over the device, just in case.

It still left him without a teleportation device, and the village without power.

Khan stood, staring at the failed experiment and failed to come up with swear words vile enough.
