With Serenity in the park, there's no reason as Zoe sees it, for them to not sleep there. Their bed, their rightful home. Why not? Her family is intact and happy for now, exactly where they're supposed to be. And with Sunday being Father's Day, she has every intention of letting Wash sleep in before going to the galley to make him breakfast in bed.
Until the proximity alarms started going off, making Zoe bolt upright and forget for a second that they were still grounded in Haurvatat. The noise makes Maya fuss, then outright cry just as something loud explodes through the atmo.
She knows it without even leaving the bunk.
Reavers. And she knew the village changed and looked too familiar for a reason. Lilac. The job right before Miranda. It all clicks into place now and she looks at Wash who by now is awake, both of them dressing fast as they can before Zoe takes hold of Maya. Something is already blowing up in the distance, and she lets Wash go up first, not even sure what the hell they can do.
