Steps leading somewhere [tag Saetan, Faramir, sort of open?]

Rehearsals were not yet under full swing at the Opera House yet, and she did not have many classes this month, so when she'd spoken to Saetan and they'd discussed dances from their home worlds, the similarities and differences, she'd suggested they each teach a dance they knew to the other. Tonight it was her turn - she was to teach him the ( Read more... )

Saetan arrived perfectly on time, as was his habit.

The walk over had helped smooth away the tiny bit of limp that remained, and he set his cane aside as he took a moment to listen to the music she had playing. It was a live song - but nothing quite like what they had back home. He would need to make an effort to explore music from others cultures, while he was still sure to have access to it.

"Good evening, Meg."

"Good evening," she responded, and smiled. "Would you like a moment to stretch, or perhaps a cup of water?"

"A moment, please." It doesn't take long to do the indicated stretching, though he does roll up his sleeves first. New dances were always difficult - always seemed to work new muscles.

It was part of what made learning them so nice.

When he seemed about ready, she walked over. First she showed him the basic steps. Not too different from a waltz (ONE-two-three&swivel, ONE-two-three&swivel), but faster.

"Think you have that?"

Hoping it's okay to jump in now. Going to be out of town later Monday, so not sure how this will work.

Meg has a lesson to teach but we are meeting for supper afterward. Considering my... whatever it was with Tabitha, I have absolutely no right to be jealous. Meg could dance with anyone at the Christmas party and that would have been fine. I do not mind her teaching Draco, certainly. I suppose this dancing alone simply reminds me of Buffy and John on the island. I really don't even know what it is that Meg feels about me, though I do hope to speak of it and find out.

If she feels nothing, then my own guilt about being with Tabitha will hopefully go away. I'm healthy and it had been a long time. I just... if I am with Meg, no matter in what sense, I should not be with anyone else. I don't want to think about any of that, just have a pleasant evening in good company and maybe find out if there is more than simple friendship here.

[[apparently I fell off the internet, so it worked out okayish? Because I'm now the late one... or still the late one... or something.]]

Meg had gone home to change after her lesson with Lord SaDiablo, and despite the time elapse some of the flush still remained in her cheeks when she met Faramir in the lobby.

"Faramir!" she called in greeting, and walked up to him happily before exchanging the cheek kisses that were so common to her back home. "How was your day?"

I am accustomed to the kisses on the cheek. Perhaps... Well, we shall see.

"It was a very good day, not too busy, and I had the thoughts of a pleasant evening ahead in my mind. It is good to have something to anticipate."

She looks all fresh and not really blushing, but with a healthy glow.

"And yourself?" I say as I offer my arm.

"Oh, my day went as most do - readying for the next show at the Opera House, classes at the Studio - Lord SaDiablo took very well to the dance. He's quite the accomplished dancer." She took his arm, and was more aware than usual of the proximity, the touch.
