Funny How Themes Change (Open Letter to Dirk)

Dude, I had an epiphany about my comic.

I've been working on outlining act two of my detective story and while talking to my fiance about it, she noted the unfortuanate implications of how some is murdered on an Arabic archeological site by a car bomb.

It hit me. This is about racial relations. About the natural suspicions that would come from such an act in such a place. Originally it was just abou greed v. the persuit of knowledge. Now a new theme has presented itself to me. New ways to complicate the plot. New red herrings. New suspects. It's gonna take a lot of thinking to keep ll this straight and keep it under thirty two pages as I have planned.

AND I LOVE IT.

This story just got deep on me. It's like the best mystery I ever read and I can't put it down. And I'm writing it! Here I thought this would be tedious!

Why didn't you tell me this could be so much fun?

.... I'm still afraid it will be utter crap. But it'll be fun crap.
