Random Idea: 4872018473: A Rap Opera

So. I was thinking about
how much modern music sucks. Stars seem to be made by committee instead
of by hard work. Voices are corrected and remixed via AutoTune. Anyone
with the ability to lip sync to Lady Gaga can become as big a celebrity
as Gaga herself. Rap and pop stars are manufactured as easily and
frequently as iPhones.

Then it hit me: what if, in the near future, some nerds literally made the ultimate music stars? Robots,
programmed to sing and dance and play instruments better than any human
can. They'll never age, complain, or need to get paid. And if they ever
get unpopular, just progrm new songs into them. Slap on some new faces
and presto! Back to the top of the charts. It would kill the music
industry as we know it. So someone kills the nerds who make the
robo-band. Tupac-style murder. But no one's supposed to know these geeks
exist. The producers try to find out who killed them.

And this story would all be told in rap. Like Tommy, or The Wall, but hip hop.

Good idea?
