Is anyone else a fan of the Trixie Belden books? They were a juvenile series about a girl and her friends forming a club and solving mysteries and published from the 40's to the 80's. I highly recommend the first six books to anyone interested in juvenile detective fiction.

Recently found a new book series; Alexander Gordon Smith's "Furnace". I've only read the first book so far, and I know it's aimed at twelve-year-old boys, but it's still pretty good. Is anyone else here familiar with the works of Robin Jarvis? If you feel you're outgrowing Redwall, the Deptford Mice are a great alternative or additional reading. They're a lot darker than one would expect for a series about cute fluffy animals, I will warn you, but if you like that sort of thing they're among the best furry fiction I've ever ( Read more... )
