So, in less maudlin news: Sleepy Hollow!

In part, I want more and for the show to do all the conspiracy things I love so well. Though I think the first episode was a ridiculous torrent of infodumping, on the level of Kindred: The Embraced, and killing off Clancy Brown and John Cho in episode one leaves a lot to be desired. Give us five episodes or so to get more attached to them, and then kill them off. (I will forever have a soft spot for Clancy from his Earth 2 days, even though I saw him first as the Kurgan, and also. Seriously. You made Sulu evil? Sulu? You should totally have developed that more and then ripped our hearts out.)

I kind of think Orlando Jones (no, I don't remember his character's name) knows something about Clancy's conspiracy. Hopefully he will take Clancy's place as the mentory type for Abbie.

Also, Abbie is awesome, and I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Katrina Van Tassel after Christina Ricci played her so well. But. Can there be more women on the show? Who interact? Head canon: Abbie thought Katrina was a dream for many years. And then there was either femslash or friendship. (Because, seriously, that dress Katrina was wearing is clearly more modern than not. She's got to be able to see the world somehow. Or so I think, with my limited costuming skills.)

In other ways, it's going to be SO PAINFUL. Women in peril who need to be saved by their straight white dude loved ones, America going to war in 1775 to SAVE THE WORLD FROM DEMONS (seriously, guys? and way to make Washington and Ichabod and Katrina the actual white saviors of the world).

On the plus side, the black woman is one of the actual, prophesied savior types too. Though, really, seven years? I don't care how Biblical it might sound, what will you do, show, if you get canceled before then? Or after that?

Anyway. It should be interesting. I'll keep watching and see how it turns out.
