I took the big blue ute out for another drive today. It's been a good month for work trips. Every time I drive out of the city I'm aware again of the sense of space you get in the country. It's like something inside you suddenly expands to meet the sky and the horizon. I don't realise how much I miss it until I feel it again.
I left an innocent comment on
house_monkey's journal and ended up committed to this:
1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by asking you five questions. I get to pick the questions and there is no guarantee that they will not be provocative or offensive.
3. You will update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions..
1. Is there anything I really ought to know about you?
Hmmm, I'm a fairly open book. Sooner or later all my quirks and crimes should turn up in my journal.
2. Who's prettier, Orlando Bloom or Scarlett Johansson?
Orlando Bloom
3. What's the best place you've ever been on holiday?
Malta
4. Most vivid childhood memory?
That's tough. I have a little collage in my mind, sights and smells, but no one big memory that I can think of right now. Some of the things that loom large: playing in a dry creekbed, the feel of the hot sun and the smell of gumleaves; the smell of rain on its way and the thrill of a thunderstorm; barbeques, fires and listening half asleep to my parents and their friends' drunken sing-alongs; collecting quandongs in the scrub; holidays in towns with hardly any people and lots of water; lying in the sun reading ...
5. Is there a god?
Christ only knows (ha ha). I believe in the concept of good and evil, and that there is a little of each in everyone, but if there is such a thing as god I doubt we really understand what that means.
