Villians need love too...

As strange as it may sound. I generally love most villians in anime. In my opinion, they keep the storyline interesting and add suspense to the story. There are a lot of villians out there who are very much disliked, hated, and misunderstood. I can understand for the most part why several people may not like them. Most of them aren't meant to be likeable and usually at times tend to be rather sadistic and evil. But I think people should look a little more deeper into their past and their qualities.

Take Naraku from the series InuYasha. He does more than just sit and hide from his opponents. Why do it yourself when you have other loyal servants to do it for you. He's got to be one of the most contemplative villians in anime. At first, I thought I would dislike him because he's basically the reason why everything's wrong in the feudal era. He's the cause of InuYasha and Kikyou betraying each other, the reason why Sango's family is dead, the reason why Miroku has a void in his hand, etc. But even after all that I still can't help but to find him a rather intriuging villian. Another example is Dilandau from Escaflowne. He's sadistic, but still makes the plot a lot more suspenseful.

Anyone else happens to be a fan of much-hated villian characters or have any opinions on them.

villains, escaflowne, inuyasha
