A bit late, to be sure, but my New Year's Resolution for this year is two-fold: to read one Lovecraft story per month, and also one book for leisure per month.

I've not read my Lovecraft story, and I will generally not review those stories here, as Lovecraft is a staple of most of my friends. But I will go ahead and review the other books I read.

The Book

I just - finally, after multiple attempts - finished H. P. Lovecraft's Book of Horror, which starts with his essay "Supernatural Horror in Literature" and then dives into about 20 of the stories mentioned therein. All are written/published in the late-nineteenth or early-twentieth century, and there are some real gems among those included. ( Read more... )
