We haven't done much over the last few days - hence no posting - as the weather has been a bit dodgy since the weekend and also there isn't a huge amount to do in the garden just now (!?) - other than hunting slugs, which I have been doing religiously.

I've spent a lot of time today sorting out my own garden - tidying, sorting out the pesky slugs, even mowing the lawn, repotting a few things, and generally catching up on all those neglected jobs.

The last few days have been busy, with lots of little jobs getting done. The heavy work has been mainly about clearing nettle roots from the back patch at the allotment and generally working that area into something usable. This is not however very glamorous or photogenic, so -

This evening I have been mostly trying to identify this pretty wild flower I found growing under the hawthorn tree near our allotment. Eventually I got there - it is a variety (I don't know which one as I couldn't make a positive ID based on the information I found on the internet) of cranesbill, or geranium. A few shots from my back garden yesterday (too wet today for anything at all).

The potatoes are coming on a treat and are (almost?) all visible above ground (I can definitely count 19 out of 20 visible, and possible 20 although there are two close together which might just be too-closely-planted or might be the same seed with two separate sprouts, ( Read more... )

Oh, what a lovely post title: one of my favourites. It's hard to believe we've only been there six weeks! We've now finally finished digging over all the beds and about half of the planting space is already used up with plans for the rest and more. It's all so great!
