Plottering

Long time, no glut of allotment pictures - so here are a few I took tonight. The plot is still looking great - everything we've planted seems to be alive and growing.

The spray has done a job on the aphids and ants, too - there are still a good few on the broad bean plants, but far fewer than yesterday. Sprayed them again and squished some more, hopefully a few more treatments over the next week or so will sort them out completely and then it will be just a case of keeping our beady eyes open. On a happier note - here is a broad bean flower! (Pretty, isn't it?)

Apart from spraying the beans, tidying up a few things, pulling up some weeds and admiring the chickens, we didn't do a lot today... but some pictures just cos I feel good.

A shot of my twice-earthed-up potato plants. Once more, I reckon, and that'll do. How great!

The marigolds and chives are looking pretty fair too:

And finally, some chick-chick-chick-chick-chickens! Over the last few days they have "discovered" the muck heap - full of slugs and bugs and other delights. Here they are just scratching at the margins:
