After learning about watering in the last few days, I've been trying to take a much more sensitive approach. before I watered anything I checked not just the surface but underneath, and found that even after several days of hot dry weather, everything had damp soil below the surface no matter how bone dry it looked from the top. The other main piece of work I did yesterday in my own garden was to set the raised bed in position.
Unfortunately, this was *not* just a case of plonking it on the ground... alas!
